The Purpose of NCYL is to recognize and foster high ideals of leadership and integrity among the youth of America.

The Greater Cedar Rapids Area Council on Youth Leadership was founded in 1981 by Carole Harder and has been a fundamental part of building the youth leaders in our community ever since. Over 10,000 students have received the distinction of being recognized as an outstanding youth leader. We are proud to be represented by 18 area high schools.
